Abstract

Background: The workplace is a worker to work productivity. To work as well, the workers need a space with a healthy work environment, comfortable and ergonomic. Silver craftsmen jobs including job classification with a high level of details. So it is necessary to give the attention about condition of the lighting in the office. Objective: Analyze and recommend lighting standards for workspace lighting intensity silversmith. Methods:  Research conducted in workshop of PT. Atman Silver is a research description, with the object of the research room is a work space for the process of making jewelry with work activities such as: carve, construct and decorate ornaments. The activities included in the delicate work that requires a standard illumination of 1000-2000 lux. Result: Preliminary research indicates that the lighting conditions in the room in the process of making jewelry were not standards, amounting to 300-400 lux. Therefore, it is recommended improvement of lighting conditions to match the standard lighting. DIALux 4:13 is software that is used as a simulation to assist in the improvement of illumination. With this software, the recommendation to make standard lighting is to replace the source of illumination with 54 watts fluorescent lamp. Conclusion: The lighting gained from these improvements is average of 1244 lux which is illumination intensity for delicate work lighting. With the fulfillment of the illumination intensity, silversmith work space will be more comfortable, healthy and ergonomics so that it will encourage workers to work and better.
